This Privacy Policy explains how Darspath collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website and services (the "Platform”). By using Darspath, you agree to this Privacy Policy.


1) Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through:

  • The Darspath website and Platform features (accounts, booking, messaging, classes)

  • Communications with us (email/support)

It does not apply to third-party services you use through or alongside Darspath. Their privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policies (see Section 13).


2) Information We Collect

A. Information you provide

  • Account information: name, email address, password (stored securely), profile details

  • Tutor profile information (if applicable): bio, languages, rates, availability, and other details you choose to provide

  • Bookings and communications: lesson requests, schedules, messages, support requests

  • Content you upload: files, materials, notes shared through the Platform

B. Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, clicks, timestamps, referring/exit pages, and similar usage data

  • Cookies and similar technologies: for essential functionality, preferences, analytics, and security (see Section 9)

C. Payment information (via Stripe and PayPal)
Payments are processed by third-party payment processors. Darspath does not store full payment card details.
We may receive limited payment-related information such as:

  • payment status (successful/failed/refunded)

  • transaction ID/reference

  • amount, currency, date/time

  • billing country/ZIP (depending on the processor)

  • dispute/chargeback status

D. Class and Zoom session information
When using Zoom for lessons, we may process:

  • session scheduling details (date/time, duration)

  • participants’ basic identifiers (e.g., name shown in session, email if provided through the Platform)

  • session metadata (join/leave times, meeting ID, device/network signals provided by Zoom integrations)

If a session is recorded, we may process recording metadata and, depending on configuration, recordings and related files (see Section 8).


3) How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide and operate the Platform (accounts, bookings, classes, communications)

  • Facilitate payments, refunds, and dispute handling (through Stripe/PayPal)

  • Provide customer support and respond to requests

  • Improve performance, features, and user experience

  • Maintain Platform security, prevent fraud/abuse, and enforce our Terms and Conditions

  • Send service-related notices (booking updates, policy updates, security alerts)

  • Comply with legal obligations


4) Legal Bases (where applicable)

Depending on your location, we process personal data based on:

  • Contract performance (providing the Platform and lessons workflow you request)

  • Legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, Platform improvement, service reliability)

  • Consent (certain cookies/analytics settings where required)

  • Legal obligations (recordkeeping, lawful requests)


5) How We Share Information

A. Between users to deliver services
Students and Tutors may see the information needed to conduct lessons (e.g., profile, booking details, messages).

B. Service providers
We share information with vendors that help us operate the Platform, including:

  • Stripe (payment processing, refunds, dispute management)

  • PayPal (payment processing, refunds, dispute management)

  • Zoom (video sessions and related metadata; recordings if enabled)

  • Google Analytics (usage analytics to understand how the website is used)

  • Hosting, cloud storage, email delivery, and customer support tools (as applicable)

These providers are authorized to use information only as needed to provide services to Darspath.

C. Legal and safety
We may disclose information if necessary to:

  • comply with law, regulation, subpoena, or court order

  • protect the rights, safety, and security of users, Darspath, and the public

  • investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents

D. Business changes
If Darspath is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.


6) Data Retention

We retain information for as long as necessary to:

  • provide the Platform and maintain your account

  • comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations

  • resolve disputes and enforce agreements

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it where feasible.


7) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No system is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and using secure devices and networks.


8) Recording Policy and Privacy

Classes may be recorded only if the Student and Tutor agree in advance.

If recordings are enabled:

  • Recordings may include audio, video, screen share, chat, and shared materials depending on Zoom settings.

  • Users are responsible for obtaining any legally required consent for recording (laws vary by location).

  • Users must not share recordings outside the Platform without permission from all recorded parties unless permitted by law.

  • Where recordings are stored: recordings may be stored in Zoom (cloud or local recording, depending on account/settings) and/or stored or accessible through Darspath if Darspath enables such features. Access may be limited to participants and/or as defined by Platform settings.

Darspath may remove access to recordings if we believe they violate law, user rights, or our Terms.


9) Cookies and Google Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

A. Essential cookies
Used for login sessions, security, and core site functionality.

B. Preference cookies
Used to remember settings (such as language or interface preferences).

C. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)
Google Analytics helps us understand how users interact with the website (for example: pages visited, time spent, device/browser type, approximate location derived from IP, and actions taken on pages). This information is used to improve the Platform.

Cookie controls
You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where available, any cookie preferences tool on the site. Disabling cookies may affect Platform functionality.


10) Children’s Privacy

Darspath is not intended for children under 13 to use independently. If a user is under 18, a parent/legal guardian must authorize the account and is responsible for the minor’s use.

If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact support@darspath.com and we will take reasonable steps to address it.


11) International Use

Darspath is operated from the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate.


12) Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights such as:

  • access to personal information we hold about you

  • correction of inaccurate information

  • deletion of certain information

  • objection to or restriction of certain processing

  • withdrawal of consent (where processing is based on consent)

To request any of these, email support@darspath.com. We may verify your identity before fulfilling requests.


13) Third-Party Services We Use

Darspath uses the following third-party services. Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy and terms:

  • Stripe (payments, refunds, dispute handling)

  • PayPal (payments, refunds, dispute handling)

  • Zoom (video classes and related session features; recordings if enabled)

  • Google Analytics (website analytics and performance insights)

Darspath is not responsible for third-party privacy practices. If you prefer, you may choose not to use features that depend on a third-party service (for example, you may avoid recorded sessions by not agreeing to recording).


14) Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the effective date. Continued use of the Platform after changes means you accept the updated policy.
